"I believe Pilates is better than Yoga because you work deeper with your muscles.

Rosemary is a rather splendid teacher and I'd certainly like to continue after I give birth."
Jane Stone, Mother to be.

"My pregnancy and body were greatly helped by Rosemary's expertise.

I totally recommend her to people before and after their pregnancies.

Rosemary has an in-depth knowledge of pregnancy and anatomy as well as great exercises to help the back, tum and the pelvic floor that do not damage the body and yet do it maximum good".

The Best Way to Prepare for your Pregnancy

Pilates for PregnancyAs our group classes offer personalized training your body will greatly benefit by joining any one of our general pilates classes which are run 6 days a week. These classes will strengthen your spine, get rid of any aches and prepare your body deeply and beautifully for the body and lifestyle demands of pregnancy and motherhood.

If you have already been doing pilates with me you will be able to stay in your preferred class right up until you are about to give birth or you can change to either of the two specialist pregnancy classes.

If you have to miss your normal class you can catch up in another class. Clients love catching up on their classes. They benefit hugely by doing so and also they get to know everyone. “This has got to be Cheltenham’s friendliest exercise centre.”

The Best Classes to Join for Newly Pregnant and New Mothers

Ladies who are new to this pilates centre and have had their baby are welcome to join any of my classes but there are certain things that they would really benefit from learning about first in order to protect their body. The best way to learn is to either come to me for one private lesson and then go and join the class of their choice, or come with the still pregnant ladies to one of the two specialist pregnancy classes for one or two lessons before moving on to a general class.

Team Work is Great:

I am totally delighted to liaise via the phone or in writing with your other health-care providers on your behalf.

Safety Advice:

Rosemary trained with an expert in women’s health, P. Downey, whose qualifications include: “Master of Science in Physical Therapy, Doctorate of Physical Therapy, Expert in Gynaecologic Dysfunction”. Ms Downey teaches pilates for all stages of parenthood but she has seen women damaged by certain forms of pilates, so please be aware that not all pilates or traditional forms of exercise
are suitable or best for new mums. Rosemary is particularly well qualified to teach pilates for pregnancy and muscular-skeletal health, because part of her pilates
training incorporated the Alexander Technique. Also, her medical background has qualified her to go on pilates training courses reserved for medical professionals.

Private Classes

A private class lasts 60 minutes, plus you need time to arrive and leave. If Rosemary makes your class a little longer she does not charge you. Rosemary also invests time in your class preparation for which you are not charged. Clients adore these classes because they are the gold standard opportunity to work specifically with your needs and no-one else’s. You are always offered a drink and there are facilities for you to help yourself to a drink if you arrive early.

I supply all the mats and equipment you will need. Just come in comfortable clothes and with socks for your feet. I look forward to helping you achieve your health goals.

To Join the Pregnancy Classes:

Once I have taken a full medical history and met you on your own for a free preliminary consultation, I invite you to try one class. Ater that I ask and recommend to pregnant mums to commit to a total of 4 or 6 lessons depending on where they are in their pregnancy. However if you inform me from the outset what you want I do my best to accommodate you. Even to come ever second week would bring you real body gains. If a mum becomes unable to do her paid for lessons either in sequence or because baby has arrived early, Mum can make up her missed class for free after the arrival of her baby which is always wonderful for her whole well-being. The general guideline is that Mums should wait for six weeks after the birth to re- commence exercise classes. Once again the specialist pregnancy classes are a lovely way to get back into pilates and exercise and I will meticulously teach you gentle, careful clever movements before you have your baby that you will thoroughly enjoy and benefit from and can do in the privacy of your home immediately after baby has arrived.

Mums come back to have more than one baby through this Centre. Mums who have only booked 4 weeks keep coming back too. People who have tried other classes for mums-to-be keep coming back to Rosemary’s pilates. So for an hour of body bliss based on deep knowledge please do join us. I’d love to help in every way possible.

What to Wear:

Anything that you can stretch out in, and lie down/stand up in. A pair of fresh socks for your feet.

Costs:

The standard price for all classes continues to be £11.00 per hour. You need to leave time each side of the hour to come and go as our hour is a very fully 60 + minutes. Please compare this to a personal trainer in a gym at £30 pounds an hour, or to a fellow professional such as a chiropractor or physiotherapist who charges £43 - £46 for 30 - 40 minutes. Rosemary has studied musculo-skeletal health for more than a decade with medical and movement specialists. Folk who come to Rosemary’s classes tend to stay healthier for much longer which saves them money and gives them the energy and body they want in order to live their lives to the full.
